Hi My name is Ralph Arbitelle and it gives me great pleasure to announce that after thirty-four years The Magic Shop Of Paris is back. We had the pleasure of teaching and inspiring numerous beginners who are still active as professionals today. To name just a few; Charles and the Lady, Steve(The Shadow) Nelson, Daryl and many others. As many of you will recall it was in our shop in Hayward that a new venture came into being. The inspiration behind the project was a young man selected by Magic Historian Leo Behnke as the sixteenth best magician in the world. At the time the young man was just six years old and had set many milestones that have yet to be bettered. He often demonstrated effects that had been created and marketed by such well known artists as Martin Lewis, Siroco, Daryl Martinez, Ron Bauer, Rick Mang and Steve Nelson. Often other magic shops would book him to do demonstrations at their stores At the ripe old age of two he began taking his first lessons from Steve Baker Escape Artist Extroardinare. At three he was being tutored by Joe Cossari, Jules Leneir and finally the Professor himself. Just prior to his fourth birthday he taped a show for KTVU Channel 2 and it was aired on his actual birthday. I remember one particular incident during the taping that seemed to be not quite up to what the director wanted and the section was taped over and over. Finally during a short break I asked if I might know what the problem was and without batting an eye the young lady director informed me that when Paris had explained that he accomplished the thimble vanish by hanging it on a pin on the back of his hand the desicion was made to show the pin. Unfortunately they could not catch it on camera. Of course the line was part of the routine that Vernon had taught to Paris and there really was no pin. After a good laugh and a few red faces the piece was completed. Young Paris at the insistence of Dai Vernon was allowed to audition for the Academy Junior Magician club with the understanding that he would be judged on his ability and nothing more. He was quickly voted in and shortly after that the regulations were suspended to allow him to perform in the close up room doing a coin and card routine taught to him by Jules and Vernon. One thing that was a landmark with the project was our lifetime warranty which will be used again for any illusion that we build. After five years in service we will replace the illusion or allow for a trade in at a pro rated amount. For the first five years the illusion or device will be replaced without question and at no cost. We will cover the exchange in no less than five working days and the replacement will be delivered to wherever you are performing.

| The photo to the left above is Pablo Flores. When he came to the group he was very willing to be a part of the whole but still wanted to be the individual that he was. When assured that there was no desire on anyone's part to make him a clone of anyone else he became one of our core. He came to us with lots of raw talent and was seeking to grow into a stage performer doing the large illusion type show. He has worked hard and has learned well. As we watch him develop there can be no doubt that he will set his own limits and we will guide him as far as we can. The young man in the upper right and directly left photos is Manny. Manny is still searching for the right vehicle to carry him and his talent to the heights that we all know he is able to reach. Each day finds him getting better and better from a technical point of view but the search goes on to find out just who he is. When he makes that breakthrough discovery the art will have a new star.

MEET MANNY
Well if you want more information about me and my magic, here you go. I started magic in 2005 around September-December (not quite sure exactly when), I saw a magician on T.V. and I became inspired and almost obsessed about wanting to do everything the performer did. As time flew by I noticed that there was a magic shop in a neighboring city, and that's when the whole journey started. I first bought a couple of rigged decks and got the basics down. Then I realized that I wanted to leave rigged or gimmicked things for a while, because I wanted to be able to perform with everyday objects that people had. The first book that really got me hooked was Modern Magic Manual by Jean Hugard, it was $22.50 book (an investment for an 8th grader......and a high school student who doesn't have an official job). I remember when I first saw it, it was a dark red book with a thin layer of dust. It seemed to call me, although I kept passing it, every time I looked around it seemed to always draw my attention. So I bought it! and that's when I became a sleight maniac. As more time flew by I also grew a fascination with the history of magic (one of the reasons why I love listening to Ralph (Siroco) and his stories of "The Golden Age of Magic" as I like to call it.) I became so obsessed with magic I eventually wanted to learn every genre that existed; Freak Show Stunts, Mentalism, Parlour, Close-up, Cards, Coins, .25 Bouncy Balls, and lately, Gambling Style Routines. Out of all that I learned the one thing that always fascinates me is the mechanics of how each trick works, whether it's complex (The kind I usually come up with) or simple, pure or gimmicked, I just can't seem to get enough of this wonderful art.
